Ragdoll season 1 kicks off tonight on the AMC premium service AMC+. Ragdoll episode 1 introduces us to disgraced detective DS Nathan Rose (Henry Lloyd-Hughes), who is called to investigate a horrific murder scene comprising six body parts sewn together to form one grotesque figure—nicknamed the “ragdoll.”  Pretty Little Liars and Katy Keene actress Lucy Hale also stars in this gritty new crime thriller. It is perhaps her darkest role yet.

The series begins with DS Rose, the newly-promoted DI Emily Baxter (Thalissa Teixeira) and young American ingenue DC Edmunds (Hale) investigating a grim discovery. As if finding the ragdoll isn’t bad enough, the team also discovers that a hit list is circulating with six more victims set to die.

They’re tasked with solving the six murders already committed in addition to trying to protect the six people on that list. As Rose displays increasingly erratic behavior, Edmunds starts poking into his past. Ragdoll is based on the book of the same name by Daniel Cole, although it isn’t necessary to read it before watching the show.

Ragdoll Episode 1 synopsis
