By Mads Lennon
Looking for the perfect gift for the comic book lover in your life? Mondo has released an incredibly detailed Man-Thing figure designed by James Groman.
Bring Man-Thing home with you soon! The plant-riddled swamp monster is receiving his very own designer vinyl Mondo figure as premiered at DesignerCon, although the creature doesn’t come cheap. 1428 Elm has learned that the limited edition figure, designed by the legendary talent James Groman, is now available to pre-order.
Keep in mind that these figures are being released in limited quantities, so if you’re eager to purchase one and have $250 set aside to do so, then you’ll want to jump on it as soon as possible. Just in time for the holidays, the Man-Thing figure could be the perfect gift. Even if you don’t have the cash on-hand, Mondo is offering payment plan options for U.S. residents. The figure is expected to ship in summer 2022.
Man-Thing screenprint from artist Francesco Francavilla also on sale
And apart from the figure itself, buyers will also receive an incredible new screenprint created by artist Francesco Francavilla. You can check out the prints themselves in the Mondo blog post where you’ll see they depict Man-Thing’s hulking form emerging from the depths of the swamp. If you just want the print, they’re available on the site in two variants and are expected to ship earlier, likely around March 2022.
Groman has been teasing his work on the Man-Thing project throughout the year on his Instagram page, claiming that the chance to design this figure was a dream come true. He shared some concept art and the early stages of the figure’s development on his social media page.
According to the post, the detail work is even more exquisite in person, but we have some photos shared below to give you an idea of what the massive Marvel monster looks like.
