Is there a chance for more Chilling Adventures of Sabrina in the future?

With the highly-anticipated Riverdale and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina crossover arriving soon, star Kiernan Shipka revealed there could be more to come.

Tomorrow, the Riverdale and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina crossover viewers have been waiting years for will finally arrive. But it’s a little bittersweet for people who loved Chilling Adventures of Sabrina since the show is over, canceled by Netflix last year with a finale that has been hotly contested by the show’s fiercest fans. The show wrapped after four seasons with Sabrina (Shipka) sacrificing herself and spending eternity with Nick (Gavin Leatherwood) in the afterlife.

But is there a chance that the crossover will not be the last we see of the character brought to life by Kiernan Shipka? The 22-year-old actress recently told Decider that it might not be the end for this version of Sabrina Spellman after all.

"“I think there’s always a potential for a reunion in some iteration. I don’t know if the show would ever come back in a series, but I think that there’s room for something to happen. I think that the cast love each other so much, and we’re all pitching to do something.”"

Her comment should give fans hope that it’s not the end of the road for her and the beloved cast of characters that included Sabrina’s aunts, Hilda and Zelda, Harvey Kinkle, Ambrose, Roz, and more.

After just four seasons, many are still baffled by Netflix’s decision to cancel the show considering it had done so well for the streaming service. It appeared to be a consistent hit on social media and in viewership. There was even an extra scene shot for the series finally to leave the door open for more content potentially.

Riverdale and Sabrina showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa finally revealed the finished scene via Instagram earlier today. The scene shows how the show might have continued and sets up how Sabrina might return to help Cheryl Blossom (Madelaine Petsch) in the upcoming crossover. The short clip shows Sabrina’s Aunt Zelda (Miranda Otto) calling upon her ex, Baron Samedi (Skye Marshall), to resurrect her niece.

It’s also worth mentioning that Aguirre-Sacasa previously said that there is a “hold” on the character that lasts about two years, presumably until late 2022. That means there could be more content in the future, maybe not in the form of a television series but perhaps a one-off movie or special.
