If you are a fan of serial killer thrillers then look no further because Dexter is pretty much the uncontested top dog in this category. Running for eight seasons, Dexter was an award-winning crime drama and psychological thriller that followed serial killer Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall).

During the day, Dexter worked as a blood splatter analyst in Miami and by night he found the most insidious types of people and predators to murder and sate his bloodlust and Dark Passenger. While the show’s final seasons were disliked by most fans, Dexter is still a fantastic show. Plus, the revival, Dexter: New Blood, is great so far and will hopefully provide long-time fans of the series a much better ending than the original series finale.

Even if you don’t end up sticking it out for all eight seasons, the first four seasons of Dexter are in a league of their own and certainly worth watching. Then, once you fall in love with the characters, you probably won’t be able to help yourself from sticking around for the rest!
