Even though Servant was not created by M. Night Shyamalan, many people recognize it because it has his name attached to it as an executive producer. Servant is a really compelling psychological horror story that has unfolded across two seasons so far with a third season set to release in January 2022. Supposedly, a fourth season is also already in the works.

The premise centers on a wealthy Philadelphia couple who experience a devastating fracture in their lives after the death of their infant son, Jericho. To manage their grief, the couple undergoes transitory object therapy with a lifelike reborn doll. Dorothy Turner starts to believe that the doll is her real child. Six weeks later, they hire a nanny, Leanne, to take care of Jericho the doll, incidentally opening their house to a mysterious, unexplainable force.

Servant is extremely atmospheric and the performances are exceptional, which is part of what makes it so good. Rupert Grint of Harry Potter fame really gets to show off his dramatic acting chops on this show as the character of Sean, Dorothy’s younger brother. If you do plan on watching Servant, try to go into it as blind as you can to let the surprises sneak up on you.
