Given the ending of the previous episode with (spoiler!) Laura Lee attempting to fly the old plane and then exploding mid-air, we can assume that things are going to get much darker for the remaining survivors moving forward. The plane was the last real chance of hope for a quick rescue after Taissa’s aborted journey to the south, which almost resulted in Van’s death.

Based on the promo for the penultimate episode, it looks like the team members are embracing the possibility of imminent death with a night of debauchery and celebration, a grim version of a homecoming, hence the episode’s title, “Doomcoming.”
