Scandinavian horror film The Twin to hit Shudder in May
By Carla Davis
Shudder has just announced news of another original film called The Twin. Each month, Shudder rolls out more high quality original and exclusive movies, with The Twin being the most recent.
A Scandinavian offering, The Twin stars Teresa Palmer (A Discovery of Witches) and Steven Cree (A Discovery of Witches, Outlander) as Anthony and Rachel, a couple grieving after one of their twins is killed in an accident.
Anthony, Rachel and their surviving son move across the globe to make a fresh start. While at first their time in the Scandinavian countryside seems calm and healing, that soon changes after Rachel begins to discover a frightening truth about her child, and she must fight to save him from a malevolent force.
The film made its debut at Frontieres Platform, which is run by Fantasia and Cannes’ Marche du Film. It won an award at Finnish Film Affair, and was given the coveted title of best project at the Korean BIFAN forum.
Shudder knows that films set in secluded areas are super-creepy.
The Twin was written by Taneli Mustonen and Aleksi Hyvarinen, and was produced by Don Films’ Aleksi Hvvarinen. Hyvarian also worked on 2016’s Finnish slasher Lake Bodom and the 2017 Russian drama Arrhythmia.
If you don’t have a Shudder subscription, The Twin will also be released in theaters, as well as On Demand beginning Friday, May 6. But first time subscribers can catch it on Shudder in the US, Canada, UKI and ANZ by logging onto their website to receive a free seven-day trial subscription.

Looks good, doesn’t it? I mean, you can’t go wrong with a horror flick that incorporates both a creepy house and a mysterious kid.
