ID brings back People Magazine Investigates for sixth season

ID series People Magazine Investigates will be returning for a sixth season on Monday, June 6. First premiering in 2016, the series has been one of the top ranking true crime shows on ID for six years.

People Magazine Investigates takes a deep dive into the cases it features, telling the story through archival footage and interviews with law enforcement and surivors.

People Magazine has quite a following in the true crime community, thanks to its team of true crime investigative journalists. Editor in Chief Liz Vaccariello lauded her team’s ability to “take viewers beyond the horror of the crimes and into the lives of those most affected by them.” She referred to ID as an “incredible partner”, and said that People is certain the sixth season will be successful.

The sixth season of People Magazine Investigates will begin at 9:00 Central time on ID, and will be available to stream on discovery+ the same day.

The first episode of the season will investigate the triple murder/double kidnapping of the Groene family in Coeur D’Alene, Idaho. Brenda Groene, along with her son Slade and her boyfriend Mark McKenzie were found bound and bludgeoned in the Wolf Lodge residence. Dylan and Shasta, the two younger children were missing, and Amber Alerts were issued. During the two-hour episode, viewers will watch as searchers try to find Shasta and Dylan.

Consisting of 12 episodes, with each airing on Mondays, the second and third episodes of People Magazine Investigates will cover the following cases:

Mother’s Orders (June 13) – When one of them kills a man, a mother and daughter try to cover up the crime.

Valley of Death – (June 27) – An investigation is launched when five young people disappear during a four-year span in Lewis-Clark Valley.
