When can I watch Tales of the Walking Dead on AMC and AMC+?
By Carla Davis
AMC is adding another entry into The Walking Dead Universe with new anthology series Tales of the Walking Dead.
Tales of the Walking Dead joins The Walking Dead, Fear the Walking Dead and The Walking Dead: World Beyond for what AMC no doubt hopes will be another huge success. The newest entry consists of six one-hour episodes, with each a standalone story. Some of the characters will be familiar to viewers, others will be all new, and AMC promises that each episode will have its own distinct feel. Still, we know we can expect more life or death situations, agonizing character choices and bloodshed. You know, the hallmarks of any TWD series.
Guest stars on Tales of the Walking Dead will include Olivia Munn (X-Men: Apocalypse), Samantha Morton (who we know as the terrifying Alpha inThe Walking Dead), Parker Posey (Scream 3), Terry Crews (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Anthony Edwards (Pet Semetary 2), Poppy Liu (Dead Ringers), Jillian Bell (Rough Night), Embeth Davidtz (Thir13en Ghosts), Loan Chabanol (Fading Gigolo), Jessie T. Usher (The Boys), Danny Ramirez (Top Gun: Maverick), and Daniella Pineda (Cowboy Bebop).
AMC indicated that there will be additional guest stars, but I am guessing the unannounced stars are the characters we will be familiar with from the other TWD series. I’m cool with that, though, I love a good surprise now and then.
Tales of the Walking Dead has some familiar names working behind the scenes.
Series producer Michael Satrazemis, who has worked on both The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead will direct three episodes, with the other three being directed by Haifaa al-Mansour (Motherland), Ron Underwood (Fear the Walking Dead) and Deborah Kampmeier (Star Trek: Picard). Tales of the Walking Dead is executive produced by Scott M. Gimple, who is the Walking Dead Universe’s chief content officer.
The new series will make its debut on Sunday, August 14 at 9:00 pm ET on AMC and AMC+. Subscribers to AMC+ will be able to watch the first two episodes on that night, and follow-up episodes will be available to watch each Sunday.
