Watcher and more Originals/Exclusives coming to Shudder in August
By Carla Davis
Shudder is adding five new exclusive films and one new original for August, and you can watch all from the comfort and safety of your own home. Let’s take a look at what’s coming as summer starts to wind down.
August 1:
Allegoria (Shudder Exclusive) – Powerman 5000 lead singer Spider One wrote and directed this film, which is about a group of emotionally damaged artists who find their insecurities and obsessions beginning to take the form of demons and monsters. Allegoria stars Krsy Fox (Frank), Adam Busch (who played the evil Warren on Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Bryce Johnson (American Horror Story) and Scout Taylor- Compton (Laurie in Rob Zombie’s Halloween and Halloween II).
August 4:
What Josiah Saw (Shudder Original) – Graham Farm is known in town to be very haunted, with good reason given its history. Josiah (Robert Patrick, Terminator 2: Judgement Day) and his estranged older children reunite at the farm, hoping to sell it and move on with their lives.
August 18:
Glorious (Shudder Exclusive) – Ryan Kwanten (True Blood, Dead Silence) has just had a really bad breakup, but things get even worse when he ends up locked in a rest stop bathroom with a mystery man menacing him from another stall.
August 18:
The Innocents (Shudder Exclusive) – I am pretty stoked about this one, I’ve heard a lot of good things. Set in a Norwegian housing complex during the summer, The Innocents involves a group of children with unusual powers. While it all seems like fun at first, things soon take a horrifying turn.
August 23:
So Vam (Shudder Exclusive) – All Kurt wants is to leave his small town and become a famous drag queen in the big city, but his dreams are waylaid when he is killed by a vampire. Luckily, a group of vamps who only drink the blood of abusers and bigots resurrect him.
August 26:
Watcher (Shudder Exclusive) – Maika Monroe (It Follows, The Guest) stars as Julia, an actress who moves to Bucharest with her husband. Julia is unnerved by a man who seems to regularly watch her from a building across the street, and becomes even more nervous when she hears of a serial killer called The Spider.
