Screambox has announced that British mockumentary When the Screaming Starts will be available to stream exclusively on their horror streaming platform on September 20.
When the Screaming Starts was a big hit at film festivals, including FrightFest, Fopcorn Frights, Panic Fest and Telluride Horror Show. It was even named Best Sci-fi/Horror Feature at London Independent Film Festival.
Phil Nobile, Jr., Editor-in-Chief of iconic horror magazine Fangoria said When the Screaming Starts “does for serial killers what What We Do in the Shadows did for vampires.” I am pretty sure Phil is considered an expert in the field of horror, so that quote should raise interest in the film.
Here’s the premise: Aidan only wants one thing in life: to be a renowned serial killer. Enter journalist Norman, who is just trying to land the story that will make him famous. Norman is invited to tag along with Aidan and his murder cult minions, and thinks this could be his big break; but following the cult and Aidan means he is there to witness the bloody murder. Can he handle that pressure?
Conor Boru makes his directorial feature debut with When the Screaming Starts, which he co-wrote with Ed Hartland (who also appears in the film as serial killer Aidan).
Other stars of the horror-comedy film include Jared Rogers, Octavia Gilmore, Kaitlin Reynell, Ronja Haugholt, Yasen Atour, Var Haugholt, Rob Tofield and Kave Niku.
