Is Smile streaming anywhere other than Prime Video?
Dozens of horror movies were released in 2022, but 24 of them turned out to get surprisingly good reviews. Smile was among them. Not only was it a hit with critics and fans alike, but it was also the second highest grossing horror movie of 2022. (Nope was first.) And now Smile is streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
Which is great news for those of us who didn’t see it in theaters. Or who didn’t rent it when it transitioned to that. And who are also Prime members.
The trailer didn’t grab me enough to make me want to go see it in theaters. At first. Then the chatter on socials heated up about how good it actually was, and I found myself debating whether I should pop for a movie ticket; just in case it turned out to be one of those horror movies that others loved, but I checked out of after 10 minutes (I’m looking at you, Drag Me to Hell), I decided to wait for Smile to start streaming.
That proved to be a good call. I figured eventually it would drop on one of the streamers I subscribe to.
But Amazon isn’t the only place you can watch Smile. We’ll take a look at where else you can watch it after we briefly touch on what it’s about.
Smile storyline
Dr. Rose Carter (Sosie Bacon) finds herself tormented by a supernatural entity after witnessing a patient, Laura Weaver (Caitlin Stasey), commit suicide. Weaver had herself witnessed her professor die by his own hand just days earlier. She told Carter that ever since then she’d been terrorized by something possessing people. The way she knew was how they smiled at her. Oh, and they also told her she was going to die. Dr. Carter doesn’t believe her…until the very same thing ends up happening to her.
Where else Smile is streaming
Besides Prime Video, it’s also available with Paramount+ and MGM+ subscriptions, or you can rent or buy it via Google TV.
