It looks like April will be a very busy and exciting month for The Boulet Brothers A/K/A Swanthula and Dracmorda! In addition to their Dragula: Titans tour kicking off in Orlando on April 8, a Halfway to Halloween special will also happen next month.

Described as a scripted variety show, Halfway to Halloween will be available on both AMC+ and Shudder. It should be a welcome addition to Shudder’s annual Halfway to Halloween celebration in April.

Last year‘s Halfway to Halloween catalogue included the Halfway to Halloween Hotline, Trick ‘r Treat, iconic vampire film Near Dark, The Evil Dead, Candyman, The Fog, Puppet Masters 1 – 3, Session 9 and Tobe Hooper’s The Funhouse. This year’s additions haven’t been announced as of yet, but I am personally looking forward to the list.

The new special is just one more example of the tight relationship The Boulet Brothers and Shudder have formed recently. All four seasons of The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula are currently available on Shudder, along with Dragula: Resurrection and the first season of Dragula: Titans.

The Boulets were also guests on Joe Bob Briggs’ Heartbreak Trailer Park Valentine’s special on Shudder in 2022. At least in the horror groups I am part of, horror fans who had never even heard of Dragula were very impressed with the duo when they joined Joe Bob and Darcy on the set for The Last Drive-In.

The Boulet Brothers will debut the Halfway to Halloween Special on April 25.

Paying tribute to nostalgic holiday variety shows, the special will feature guest appearances by the likes of David Dastmalchian (Suicide Squad), Matthew Lillard (Scream), Kevin Smith (Clerks), Felissa Rose (Sleepaway Camp), Barbara Crampton (Jakob’s Wife), and Kendra Onixx, Melissa Befierce and Koco Caine of Dragula fame. The Twin Temple Band will also be joining in on the spooky fun.

The Boulets proclaimed themselves thrilled that their very first scripted project would involve Halloween and AMC. They promised their special would be “the best Halloween special you’ve ever seen – even if we’re only halfway there!”

Next. Joe Bob Briggs is presenting three different shows this spring. dark
