Shudder is back with another Halfway to Halloween schedule for April. As in previous years, the horror streaming platform is adding new specials and series, along with films both old and new.

First up is the return of the Slasher horror series. Slasher: Ripper travels back to the late 19th century, where a killer known as The Widow is seeking vengeance amongst the rich and privileged. Eric McCormack stars as Basil Garvey, a ruthless and successful tycoon. The two-episode season premiere of Slasher: Ripper will debut on Shudder April 6, and the full season of Slasher: Flesh and Blood will be available for free throughout the month of April.

The fifth season of Shudder original series The Last Drive-In With Joe Bob Briggs will make its premiere on April 21. The first part of the season will run through May 19, and will return mid-June after a brief hiatus.

The Boulet Brothers’ Halfway to Halloween TV Special will air on Shudder and AMC+ on April 25. The holiday variety show will come to viewers from the Boulets’ haunted manor and will be chock full of skits, special guests and musical performances.

New films hitting Shudder in April will include:

Kids vs. Aliens (April 14) – A crazy house party goes wrong when the partying teenagers are attacked by aliens. A brother and sister who are accustomed to constantly fighting with one another are forced to work together to fight off the evil aliens. This V/H/S spinoff features Dominic Mariche (Are You Afraid of the Dark?), Calem MacDonald (The Umbrella Academy) and Phoebe Rex (The Last Divide).

From Black (April 28) – A young mother played by Anna Camp (Pitch Perfect) is still paralyzed by grief and guilt five years after her little boy disappeared. When she is given the chance to hold her child again, find out what happened and make things right, will she take it?

Finally, here are some highlights from April additions to the Shudder Halfway to Halloween film library:

Magic – Anthony Hopkins (The Silence of the Lambs) plays Corky, a successful ventriloquist who begins to believe that his foul-mouthed dummy Fats is alive.

The Slumber Party Massacre – Trish and her best girlfriends just want to have fun at a slumber party, but the fun turns to terror when a killer with a very large drill shows up unexpectedly.

Don’t Panic – At Michael’s surprise birthday party, he and his friends decide to play with a Ouija board. Surprise! A demon is accidently summoned.

Final Exam – A handful of students at a college in North Carolina remain on campus after a fake shooting results in most leaving the school. Unfortunately, the few who stay behind are joined by a crazed killer. Trivia alert: According to Wikipedia, the Scream character Randy Meeks was inspired by Radish, a character in Final Exam.

Primal Rage – A newspaper reporter sneaks into a research lab, where he is bitten by a rabid monkey. When he shows up at a college Halloween party, things get bloody.

Darklands – A journalist investigating the suspicious death of a trainee ends up embroiled in the ritualistic actions of a Druidic cult.
