AMC announced some big news regarding The Walking Dead at WonderCon last week. Although the original series has now ended, fans have been looking forward to the premiere of The Walking Dead: Dead City, and now we have an official date.

AMC presented panels at Anaheim’s WonderCon for both Dead City and Fear the Walking Dead , which is about to enter its eighth and final season. The network took the opportunity to give premiere dates for both series, also giving us new images and a trailer.

The panel for Dead City featured Lauren Cohen (who both stars in and executive produces the series), Showrunner Eli Jorne and actor Gaius Charles. Representing FTWD were cast members Jenna Elfman, Kim Dickesn and Christine Evangelista, along with Executive Producer Michael Satrazemis and Co-Showrunner Ian Goldberg.

When will The Walking Dead: Dead City premiere?

Dead City will make its first episode debut on Sunday, June 18. It will start at 10:00 p.m. ET on both AMC and AMC+. Future episodes will air at 9:00 ET on Sundays.

The new series features Lauren Cohen and Jeffrey Dean Morgan, once again portraying two of the most popular TWD characters, Maggie and Negan. The two are in Manhattan, completely cut off from the mainland, and they are searching for Maggie and Glenn’s son Hershel, who has been kidnapped. Obviously, the city is populated with not only walkers, but the surviving humans; and if every other zombie film/series hasn’t already proven this point, sometimes the living are the bigger threat.

As far as FTWD is concerned, the final season will hit Sunday, May 14 at 9:00 p.m. ET. Again, it will be available on both AMC and AMC+. The new season begins where season 7 ended, with Morgan, Madison and crew forced to live on the island under PADRE’s strict leadership.
