Five of the best modern horror series ranked (including Swarm)

Horror series have been around for nearly as long as television has existed, and there are plenty of modern series to join the old familiar.

Horror has existed on TV around for nearly as long as televisions themselves have existed. Everyone is familiar with horror series such as The Twilight Zone, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Night Gallery, Dark Shadows…the list could go on and on.

And more recently, The Walking Dead entertained us (and often grossed us out) for 11 seasons before ending its run last year. American Horror Sto

ry is supposed to begin filming its 12th season in May of this year, and Hulu series American Horror Stories has already completed its second season.

But there are also a few newer horror series that have popped up within the last couple of years, and that’s what we will be focusing on for the purposes of this article. Each of the horror series I will be ranking premiered between 2021 and 2023, and each of them have personally impressed me. I am fairly confident that most horror fans would agree with these choices, since the response to them has been overwhelmingly positive.

It was no easy task for me to place these in order of preference, since each series has its own unique qualities, but I took into account the following things: Storyline, cast, the look and feel of each series and how much horror was included. So, with that in mind, let’s start the countdown with my choice for the number five spot.
