Fans of The Dead Files, there’s good news/bad news/good news for you concerning the upcoming 15th season of the Travel Channel paranormal series.

It is, of course, good news that the series, which made its debut in 2011, is coming back with an all-new season. Ever since The Dead Files began in 2011, former NYPD detective Steve DiSchiavi and psychic medium Amy Allan have worked together to help people who are being traumatized by paranormal events happening in their very homes. And the new season will start off as usual, but Amy Allan will be leaving The Dead Files after the fifth episode. She has chosen to step down for a “personal break,” and will turn her duties over to another psychic medium that we are all familiar with, Cindy Kaza.

You will recognize Kaza from the many other Travel Channel paranormal series she has been featured on, including The Holzer Files, The Osbournes: Night of Terror, Portals to Hell, Ghosts of Devil’s Perch and several Shock Doc Specials, most recently Michigan Hell House.

The new season of The Dead Files will premiere on Travel Channel Thursday, June 1st at 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time, and new episodes will air each Thursday.

In The Dead Files, DiSchiavi and Allan each conduct their own separate investigations, utilizing their unique talents to help desperate families and property owners get to the bottom of the frightening paranormal activity they are experiencing. DiSchiavi researches the stories and backgrounds and uses his law enforcement knowledge in order to understand what is happening on the surface.

As a medium, Allan can communicate with those who have passed on, which she does by walking through a property that she has no knowledge of. As she conducts her investigation, any entities that reside in the area can convey information to her.

Afterwards, DiSchiavi and Allan come together to discuss what each of them has learned from their own experiences, and are often able to help the entities move on, and the property owners to achieve peace.

While Amy Allan’s presence on The Dead Files will be missed, Cindy Kaza seems like she will be a good fit for the show. She has definitely proven her talents as a psychic medium on the many Travel Channel shows she has participated in.
