The episode opens with Dolores enjoying long showers and smoking joints despite the occasional water cutoff in her building. When she informs Luis, her friend and roommate, about the plumbing issue, he becomes angry and refuses to pay the sizable debt he owes to the landlord.
Luis introduces Dolores to Joy, the proprietor of a nearby launderette, who offers to help Dolores find a job. Joy mentions Bridget’s salon, which provides massage services and Dolores expresses her interest in becoming a massage therapist. Determined to secure a position, Dolores offers Bridget a complimentary massage to showcase her skills. Impressed by Dolores’ touch, Bridget immediately offers her an entry-level job. Dolores is elated, but her happiness is short-lived.
During Dolores’ encounter with a client named Marcie at the salon, Marcie brings up Dolores’ imprisonment, possession allegations and fifteen-year sentence. Shocked by this revelation, Bridget retracts her job offer. Marcie meets Dolores outside and offers her a better-paying sales position. However, Dolores declines the offer, hoping to start fresh after her release from prison.
Nellie, a cashier at Empanada Loca, suggests creating a vision board to help Dolores achieve her goals. Meanwhile, Luis learns about Dolores’ unsuccessful job interview and decides to advertise her massage therapy business on the windows. Dolores begins her business by providing massages on her bed and her expertise quickly gains recognition through word of mouth. Soon, there is a long line of customers eager to experience her services.
Despite Dolores’ success, Luis continues to refuse to pay rent, causing financial strain. Dolores decides to use her savings to cover her expenses. She feels encouraged and satisfied with her achievements for the first time in a while. With Nellie’s help, she transforms her space to accommodate her growing business.
A coworker suggests that Dolores invest in a massage table and Jeremiah, the delivery guy, assists her in moving and unpacking the new table. However, Jeremiah expresses concerns about Luis and advises Dolores to have backup plans, as he believes her business won’t survive for long.
When the landlord, Mr. Pearlman, comes to talk about rent, Luis and he start arguing upstairs. Dolores steps in to calm the situation and says she has money to pay the landlord. They go to the basement to count the money in private. Dolores gives Mr. Pearlman $500, but he tells her that he actually needs $11,000 every month. This surprises Dolores, and she becomes worried about how she will be able to afford such a high amount.
In a desperate attempt to negotiate, Dolores offers Mr. Pearlman a relaxing massage. He agrees, expecting a sexual favor in return. However, Dolores begins with a normal therapeutic massage. As Mr. Pearlman continues to talk, he displays unsettling behavior, causing Dolores to consider killing him. She recalls lessons from her time in jail on how to murder someone from behind.
When Mr. Pearlman becomes impatient and touches Dolores, she retaliates by attacking him. The episode ends with Dolores taking action against the landlord, setting the stage for the horror that lies ahead.
