Amazon Prime Video and Blumhouse Television are bringing us Totally Killer in October. The new film is the next project originating from Prime and Blumhouse’s partnership.

Just in time for Halloween, slasher-comedy Totally Killer will take us on a trip to the 1980s as seen through the eyes of 17-year-old Jamie (played by Kiernan Shipka from Chilling Adventures of Sabrina).

One Halloween night, a murderer knows as The Sweet Sixteen Killer” brutally slaughtered three teenagers. Now it is thirty-five years later, and the killer has returned to find a fourth victim. Jamie thinks her mom Pam is just being overprotective, and ignores her pleas to be careful, but she is soon running for her life from the masked killer.

When Jamie ends up travelling back to 1987 (the year the original murders happened), she has to contend with culture shock. She also has to contend with teaming up with the teen version of her own mother to stop the killer. Failure to accomplish the goal will mean that Jamie is stuck in the 1980s forever.

Totally Killer also stars Julie Bowen (The Fallout) and Olivia Holt (Cruel Summer) as the current and past versions of Jamie’s mom.

Prime has really stepped up their horror game over the past year. With buzz-worthy horror projects such as Goodnight Mommy, Swarm, My Best Friend’s Exorcism and The Horror of Dolores Roach, we have good reason to think Totally Killer will be a good addition to our October viewing schedule.

If you haven’t seen the recent original horror on Prime, I highly recommend Goodnight Mommy and Swarm in particular. Goodnight Mommy is a remake of the 2014 Austrian film of the same name. When their mother returns from surgery with her faced wrapped in bandages, young twin boys Elias and Lukas begin to suspect she is not really their mother, but instead a dangerous imposter.

Swarm is a series telling the story of a young woman named Dre, who is obsessed with famous pop singer Ni’Jah. When a personal tragedy happens in her life, Dre turns to murder as she tries to connect with Ni’Jah.

Totally Killer will be available to stream only on Prime on October 6.
