Shudder has released more info on season five of The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula. Read on for the premiere date, judge announcements and key art.
The new season of Dragula is pronounced to be “the biggest and baddest yet”, with an updated, even more spectacular set, new crew members, and the most diverse cast the series has ever featured.
As if that’s not enough icing on the cake, there’s another new development as well: The Boulet Brothers’ are taking over the directing duties. Of course, that’s in addition to their hosting duties, which they always perform oh so well!
On this season of The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula, Dracmorda and Swanthula continue their search for the next drag super monster. With a cast of all-new competitors and more costumes, makeup, challenges and spine-chilling performances, this may be the best and most over-the-top season of them all.
When does season five of The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula premiere on Shudder?
Fittingly, season five will make its debut on Halloween, Tuesday, October 31, and it will hit both Shudder and AMC+. New episodes will appear each week on Tuesdays. Joining the Boulets will be guest judges such as Mike Flanagan (The Haunting of Hill House, The Fall of the House of Usher), David Dastmalchian (The Boogeyman), writer/director Kevin Smith (Tusk, Yoga Hosers), author Tananarive Due (Patient Zero), musician Jazmin Bean and Matthew Lillard (Scream), plus more to be announced.
Also helping out with the judging duties will be the first recurring judge, season three winner Landon Cider, along with appearances from past Dragula royalty such as Dahli, Koco Caine and Dragula Titans’ winner Victoria Elizabeth Black.
Says Dracmorda:
"“With season 5, we are beginning a new and innovative new chapter of the show, and we’ve retooled and updated the format in an incredibly exciting way.”"
Swanthula added, “Nobody is going to sail the ship with more passion than us, so we’ve taken over as the show’s directors for season 5, and we’ve brought in some incredibly talented new team members who are really elevating what you will see on-screen.”
AMC Networks stated that they are excited about celebrating Halloween by giving fans the new and improved fifth season of The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula, which over the past year has become the most-watched series franchise on Shudder.
