By Carla Davis
AMC Networks is leaning heavily into horror this October, and their announcement of panels and screenings at New York Comic Con only goes to prove it.
AMC Networks has already announced their annual FearFest celebration is supersized this year, and “shocked by Shudder,” with the return of The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs for a sixth season, a new season of Creepshow and season five of The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula, premiering on Halloween night.
Comic Con runs from October 12 to October 15 this year, and AMC Networks has a lot to contribute to the schedule. There’s an early screening of the season finale for The Wal
king Dead: Daryl Dixon, along with panel discussions and plenty of teasers to promote all of their great genre series.
Here’s what AMC Networks is bringing to Comic Con New York:
Thursday, October 12, 4:15 p.m. – Attendees can watch the season finale of TWD: Daryl Dixon before it airs on AMC and AMC+ on the 15th. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Chief Content Officer Scott M. Gimple, showrunner David Zabel and Greg Nicotero. The panel will be moderated by Dalton Ross of Entertainment Weekly. Before the episode screens, viewers will get sneak peeks at teasers and new scenes for Orphan Black: Echoes, The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live and season two of Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire.
Friday, October 13, 4:30 p.m. – Join AMC Networks at the Main Stage as they present directors from each installment of the V/H/S film franchise. The directors will each discuss their respective films, as well as talk about horror and the future of V/H/S. Directors on the panel will include David Bruckner (V/H/S), Chloe Okuno (V/H/S/94), Natasha Kermani (V/H/S/85), Tyler McIntyre (V/H/S/99) and Jason Eisener (V/H/S/2), among others.
