Fans of The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs have something to get excited about this week, since Joe Bob’s Hell-O-Ween special makes its way onto Shudder and AMC+.

While we don’t know yet which two movies will be featured, Joe Bob did release the following tweet, promising that Joe Bob’s Hell-O-Ween :

"“…will be designed and shaped by Darcy The Mail Girl, because I’m sick of people telling me how bad I screw up Samhain every year, starting with my inability to PRONOUNCE Samhain. The guests, the decorations, the themes…all NOT MY FAULT. All I know is the two movies.”"

So, what about those two movies? Unless I missed it, no obvious clues have been given, although Darcy did tweet a poll question asking if Sam (from Trick ‘r Treat) is a “horror icon.” Maybe that means Trick ‘r Treat is one of the featured films for Joe Bob’s Hell-O-Ween?

That seems a pretty obvious choice for a Halloween special, especially since Joe Bob is known for going outside the box when choosing movies for his holiday specials. Still though, he does tend to lean towards films actually related to Halloween for his October specials. In 2019, Halloween (1978) and Halloween 4 got the Joe Bob treatment for Joe Bob’s Halloween Hootenanny.

Haunt and Hack-O-Lantern were featured the following year for the Halloween Hideaway. JB went rogue for 2021’s Halloween Hoedown with Angel and Terror Train, then featured Elvira’s Haunted Hills and Popcorn for last year’s Halloween Hangout.

So, who knows what this year’s films will be? We all know Darcy has been pushing for Halloween III: Season of the Witch.

Joe Bob’s Hell-O-Ween will stream live on Shudder TV and AMC+ TV on Friday, October 20 at 9:00 p.m. ET

AMC Networks and Joe Bob are promising at least one special guest, so whatever the film choices may be, JB will have someone on board who is up close and personal with at least one of the movies. Guess we will have to tune in to find out for sure!
