Netflix just released its time-traveling slasher movie Time Cut in time for Halloween, and if you liked it, then you're in luck because there are a surprising amount of comedic slashers that have similar storylines out there.
In Time Cut, we follow a teenager in 2024 who accidentally travels back in time to the early 2000s and finds herself with an opportunity to prevent her sister from getting murdered. It's a cute film but it hasn't been very well-received by critics or audiences. You might end up liking some of the recommendations on this list better.
Happy Death Day (2017)
The plot of Happy Death Day is similar to the plot of Time Cut and Totally Killer, but it takes the idea in a different direction in that this time it's about a girl, Tree (Jessica Rothe), trying to prevent her own murder. It's kind of like a cross between Groundhog Day and Halloween. Tree gets the worst birthday present ever when she literally gets killed.
But then she gets an opportunity to prevent her own death by repeating the day over and over until she figures out who the real killer is. The sequel film, Happy Death Day 2U, is equally fun though it leans more heavily into the science fiction of it all than the darker slasher elements in the first one.
Both films now streaming on Peacock
Freaky (2020)
Freaky is another film directed and co-written by Christopher Landon, with a very similar vibe to Landon's Happy Death Day films. At one point, there were even rumors that the two films could crossover in some capacity for a potential third Happy Death Day movie, though that hasn't come to fruition yet.
A slasher comedy like all of the others on this list, Freaky follows Kathryn Newton's character Millie, a high school senior, who gets body-swapped with a serial killer known as the Blissfield Butcher (Vince Vaughn). Freaky is a nice change of pace from the time-travel concept found in the majority of other films on this list and instead plays with the popular sci-fi trope of swapping bodies.

The Babysitter (2017)
Out of all of the movies on this list, The Babysitter is the only one that doesn't toy with any sci-fi themes. It's more of a straightforward slasher comedy film about a babysitter who is secretly part of a satanic cult. Samara Weaving stars in this Netflix Original that was very well-received when it first premiered. Fans of this one can also watch the sequel, The Babysitter: Killer Queen.

Totally Killer (2023)
Here's the movie that Time Cut has been most frequently compared to because they do have similar plots. Totally Killer is kind of like the better-written, R-rated version of Netflix's movie.
In this one, Kiernan Shipka stars as a teenager who travels back in time to the late 1980s to try and stop the Sweet 16 Killer who murdered her mother. In 1987, she meets the teenage version of her mom (Olivia Holt) and they try to work together to save her. Julie Bowen also stars. If Time Cut didn't hit for you then I suggest checking this one out.
Now streaming on Prime Video.
The Final Girls (2015)
The Final Girls is the movie everyone compared Totally Killer to when it was first released as, again, it has kind of a similar storyline about people traveling back into the past where they end up facing off against a killer.
This time, an entire group of teenagers travel back into the setting of a 1980s slasher movie titled Camp Bloodbath that happens to star someone very close to one of the teenagers, leading her to try and save that person before they die in the future. The Final Girls is a lot of fun and, in some ways, reminds me a lot of Cabin in the Woods in that it pokes fun at classic horror movie tropes and pays homage to them.
