The spooky season is now upon us and there are some who are well versed in the creepy and crawlies, and there are others who are just content dipping their toes in. Horror is supposed to be scary, a genre created to almost remind us of what true fear is. A way for our primal instincts, that are more subdued than discarded, to emerge and stretch their legs from our comfortable existences. From well beloved characters to unfortunate remakes, sometimes between the screams and tears everyone needs a good laugh. Here are five of the worst horror movies sure to tickle your funny bone rather than make your skin crawl available for free on Tubi.
Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey
Prepare to have your childhood ruined by this movie, which was made at the first opportunity when the copyright for the original Winnie the Pooh expired. Mainly featuring Pooh and Piglet, although it does mention a few of the others, this movie will definitely make you laugh out loud at its absurdity rather than its scares.
When a Stranger Calls
Many can remember what a landline is and the frustration of early cellular technology. However at the time these were common and reliable. This remake of the, 1979 version, similarly exploits the back and forth nature of life pre-caller ID, with a bit of a modern upgrade, but will leave you shouting in anger rather than screaming in fear.
47 Meters Down: Uncaged
If you've been paying attention to the decades of shark reeducation that has been put out into the ether, then you'll just know why this movie is within the realm of ridiculous. Four teenage girls coming face to face with a pack of blind great white sharks? Highly predictable, you'll be cheering for the sharks rather than the characters.
The Haunting of Molly Hartley
Imagine High School Musical, but converted into the horror genre with all the typical drama and clichés: mean girls, jocks, and nerds. This movie will keep you on the edge of your seat in a mad race to the bathroom when you find yourself laughing too hard.
I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997)
Coming off the coattails of the infamous Scream, this movie plays off of the formula of a typical horror movie. Four teenagers, deranged killer, ignorant adults with no instinct of self preservation. With the ability to see every turn and every scare coming, you'll have a grand time giggling instead of jumping.
