Trap, the latest movie from M. Night Shyamalan starring Ethan Hawke as a menacing serial killer lured to a concert as part of a massive operation to capture him, is finally available to watch at home! The movie landed on Max on October 25. In addition to being available to rent and purchase, Max subscribers can also watch it anytime.

Those who have watched the movie already and are looking for something to follow it up with are in luck. The following list features recommendations for movies like Trap.

Smile 2

A fundamental part of Trap that makes it an absolute thrill to watch is the inclusion of M. Night Shymalan's real-life daughter Saleka as the fictional pop star Lady Raven. If you're craving more fictional pop star horror then look no further than the newly released sequel Smile 2. Now playing in theaters, the sequel surpasses the original in every way. It's scarier, gorier, and just more in every way. Naomi Scott delivers a phenomenal performance as the lead character (and latest victim of the Entity) pop singer Skye Riley.

Silence of the Lambs

Shyamalan has spoken about how his initial inspiration for Trap was Silence of the Lambs. He even pitched the movie as something like Silence of the Lambs if it were to play out at a Taylor Swift concert. Not only is Silence of the Lambs a classic psychological thriller, but it gave us an iconic horror performance with Anthony Hopkins' version of Hannibal Lecter. Check it out, and you'll see why it served as the perfect inspiration for Trap.

Opera

While it isn't the most popular of Dario Argento's films, this 1987 Italian movie should intrigue anyone who likes the uniqueness of seeing a movie take place in a packed concert venue, except this time, the story unfolds in an opera house. A young woman unwittingly gets wrapped up in a series of murders as a masked killer starts picking people off during a showing of MacBeth.

Green Room

Green Room is a much darker and grittier film than Trap, but it's a good pick for those who appreciated the fact that Trap predominantly took place in a music venue. In Green Room, a band finds themselves trapped after a performance and soon targeted by a violent gang after they witness a crime.

Longlegs

I'll preface this by saying Longlegs is not very similar to Trap apart from them both featuring serial killers. However, it is considered one of the most successful and highly praised horror movies of the year. Like Trap, Longlegs also features a notable actor in the lead role as a menacing serial killer. If watching Shyamalan's film makes you want to check out other serial killer thrillers, then this one should top your list.
