We already know that 2025 is rife with exciting horror titles, including many returning franchises and exciting original ideas, but what's cooking over at Netflix?

In previous years, Netflix has brought us films like It's What's Inside, Fear Street, His House, The Ritual, The Babysitter, and several other notable flicks. Looking ahead to what's in store, there aren't many on the schedule yet, but a few are highly anticipated, like Guillermo del Toro's take on Frankenstein.

The majority of the films listed below don't have dates just yet but are expected to release sometime this year. Make sure to bookmark 1428 Elm and check back frequently for updates!

Frankenstein

Universal Monsters are in this year, as Leigh Whannell's new take on Wolf Man hits theaters this January. Later this year, we'll see Guillermo del Toro's interpretation of Frankenstein. While not a Universal monster, Nosferatu's success has proven that audiences are hungering for more gothic horror, and Del Toro is the king of that particular subgenre. His take stars Oscar Issac as the mad scientist Victor Frankenstein and Jacob Elordi as his monster. Mia Goth also stars.

Fear Street: Prom Queen

Fear Street fans have been waiting years to watch another entry into this highly entertaining and nostalgic franchise that started with the successful trilogy of films released in the summer of 2021. As far as we know, Prom Queen isn't directly related to that trilogy, but it will bring us back to Shadyside, where prom queen candidates are being picked off one by one by a mysterious killer. Based on the book of the same name by writer R.L. Stine. Netflix is also reportedly working on three more Fear Street movies, so hopefully, this is one of many more to come.

Troll 2

The first Troll, a fun and exhilarating Norwegian horror movie, went on to become Netflix's most streamed non-English language movie of all time. Another one is coming and is supposedly set to release at some point this year. Netflix hasn't shared any plot details yet.

The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep

While not a "scary" movie in the traditional sense, fans of dark fantasy and The Witcher must keep an eye out for this upcoming animated movie releasing on February 11. Anya Chalotra and Joey Batey will reprise their roles as Yennefer and Jaskier from Netflix's live-action series and, most excitingly of all, Doug Cockle is voicing Geralt. For those who aren't gamers: Cockle voiced our beloved monster hunter in all three of CD Projekt Red's acclaimed video games.

As for the movie itself, it is based on Andrzej Sapkowski's short story, "A Little Sacrifice," published in his Sword of Destiny collection. Geralt is on a monster hunt and unwittling becomes part of an ancient conflict between man and merpeople. Sapkowski worked as a creative consultant on this project to help flesh out more of the story's lore and details.

The Woman in Cabin 10

Keira Knightley, Guy Pearce, and Hannah Waddingham star in this adaptation of Ruth Ware's best-selling psychological thriller novel. Knightley plays a journalist on a luxurious cruise who witnesses someone toss a passenger overboard one night, but the next day she learns that everyone is accounted for. Determined to get to the bottom of this mystery, she might just put herself in danger trying to solve this puzzle. Netflix hasn't officially announced that The Woman in Cabin 10 will be out this year, but we're anticipating its release in the second half.
