43. Let Me In

Release Date: 2010

Directed by Matt Reeves

Written by Matt Reeves

Starring Kodi Smit-McPhee, Chloe Grace Moretz, Elias Koteas, and Richard Jenkins

Set in the early 1980s, this vampire movie has an element of romance thrown in, but this sure ain’t Twilight. In the story, a lonely 12 year old boy meets a girl named Abby who, unbeknownst to him, is actually a vampire. Feeding on human blood to live, Abby becomes the boy’s girlfriend, and he seems to be the only one safe from her feeding frenzies.

The ending of the film is kind of sad, but also pretty sweet. If you’re looking for a vampire love story that’s a bit darker than that certain franchise with Kristen Stewart, then you may enjoy Let Me In.
