With January nearly behind us, it's time to start looking ahead to February. Netflix has unveiled its full lineup of shows and movies for next month, and we couldn't help but notice the abundance of thrilling horror titles.
Unfortunately, we also noticed that there will be a few horror movies departing the streaming platform in February. You want to make sure to catch them before they're gone because there's no telling if they'll ever make a return.
Now, let’s dive in and take a look at all the horror films arriving and departing Netflix next month.
It (2017)
Netflix release date: Feb. 1, 2025
It introduced viewers to one of the creepiest clowns in horror, Pennywise the Dancing Clown. However, Pennywise isn’t actually a clown but rather an evil, shapeshifting supernatural entity that frequently assumes the form of a clown to prey on vulnerable children. In this supernatural horror film, the story follows a group of kids who are tormented by Pennywise. To end the creature's reign of terror, they ultimately realize that confronting their deepest fears and facing him directly is the only way to stop him.
Train to Busan (2016)
Netflix release date: Feb. 11, 2025
Train to Busan is easily one of the best zombie movies of all time. The plot centers around a divorced father and his estranged daughter who, after boarding a train from Seoul to Busan, find themselves in a fight for survival alongside other passengers when a sudden zombie outbreak sweeps across the country. If you enjoyed Gong Yoo's performance as The Recruiter in Squid Game, you're going to love him in Train to Busan.
Peninsula (2020)
Netflix release date: Feb. 11, 2025
As a standalone sequel to Train to Busan, Peninsula is set four years after the events of the zombie outbreak in the first film. The story follows a former soldier who, along with his team, is tasked with recovering a truck filled with money in a post-apocalyptic Korea, now overrun by zombies. As they try their best to navigate the dangerous, zombie-infested landscape, they encounter not only the undead but also hostile human survivors.
The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep (2025)
Netflix release date: Feb. 11, 2025
Look, I know The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep isn't a horror movie. However, we believe fans of the horror genre will still enjoy it because of its dark fantasy elements. That's why it's included in the list. Set in the iconic The Witcher universe, this film revolves around mutated monster-hunter Geralt of Rivia, who is tasked with stopping an impending war between humans and merpeople.
Here's the official logline via Netflix Media Center:
"Geralt of Rivia, a mutated monster hunter, is hired to investigate a series of attacks in a seaside village and finds himself drawn into a centuries-old conflict between humans and merpeople. He must count on friends -- old and new -- to solve the mystery before the hostilities between the two kingdoms escalate into all-out war."
Watcher (2022)
Netflix release date: Feb. 25, 2025
Scream queen Maika Monroe stars in the leading role of Julia, a young actress who relocates to Bucharest with her husband for his job. However, her fresh start quickly takes a sinister turn when she begins to suspect that a mysterious man in a neighboring apartment is watching her. Her suspicions then worsen when she learns that a local serial killer known as "The Spider," is targeting and murdering women. With those around her dismissing her concerns, Julia must uncover the truth by herself before it's too late.
Here are two other horror films slated to be released on Netflix this February:
- Cult of Chucky (2017) - Feb. 1
- Don't Let Go (2019) - Feb. 16
These three horror flicks are leaving Netflix next month:
- The Pope’s Exorcist - Feb. 12
- 47 Meters Down: Uncaged - Feb. 16
- Pearl - Feb. 16
In addition, A Haunted House, A Haunted House 2, Scooby-Doo and Scooby-Doo: Monsters Unleashed will be departing Netflix on March 1. This means the last day you'll be able to stream them on Netflix is Feb. 28. Don't forget these dates!
