A woman is haunted by hallucinations of her abusive ex in Both Eyes Open trailer
While there is still so much horror content and thrillers left to be released in 2024, we've already begun to look at what's coming out next year. In fact, there's an upcoming indie psychological thriller slated to be released in select theaters in 2025. It's titled Both Eyes Open, and we now have the gripping official trailer to watch to hold us over until its release. You can check it out above!
We first learned of this thriller back in June 2024. It was announced that Ariel Julia Hairston (The Comeback, Outlandish) had written the script and directed the film. Production had already wrapped in Atlanta at the time. RodFather Productions was revealed to be the production company behind the movie with the involvement of Oasis Ave Films. In addition, executive producers of the film include Hairston, Roderick McClure, Joshua Ferrell, and Gail Bean.
In Both Eyes Open, a woman’s attempt to escape her abusive past takes a terrifying turn as she begins to believe her tormentor has returned. Ally is trying to rebuild her life after escaping an abusive relationship, but she finds this hard to do when she struggles with persistent hallucinations of her abuser. On top of that, she begins to receive mysterious, threatening messages that suggest her ex may still be lurking nearby.
Gail Bean, who is best known for her roles in the TV shows Snowfall and P-Valley, stars in the leading role of Ally. You can catch her now in the Netflix drama film The Piano Lesson. Besides Both Eyes Open, we'll see her next in the upcoming Harlem season 3. Taye Diggs, Joy Brunson, Christie Leverette, Tristan Mack Wilds, Michael Oloyede, and Carla Fisher also join Bean in the cast for the thriller film.
So, when exactly will Both Eyes Open hit theaters? Well, that date will be Jan. 17, 2025. However, keep in mind that this movie has been given a limited theatrical release, meaning it will be shown in only a select number of theaters. Tickets should be available to purchase closer to the film's release date.
