Alice in Borderland season 3 premieres on Netflix this September (new teaser reveal!)

After Alice in Borderland season 2's shocking cliffhanger ending, a third season felt inevitable. Why reveal the Joker card if not to tease what's next? Well, fans' wishes came true in September 2023 when Netflix announced to the world that the hit thriller series would be returning with a third season.

Unfortunately, details on the new season had been scarce. But now, we finally have more information. Previously confirmed for a 2025 release, Alice in Borderland season 3 finally has an official premiere month. Plus, Netflix has dropped an exciting new teaser to hype up the show's long-awaited return. All of this was revealed at the streaming giant's recent Next on Netflix event on Feb. 12.

Get ready to have a fantastic September because that's when Alice in Borderland season 3 is set to be released on Netflix. The last two seasons of the thriller series came out later in the year as well, so it isn't surprising that the third installment is following suit with a fall debut. Thankfully, we won’t have to wait until December like we did for seasons 1 and 2. The third season is slated to arrive three months earlier.

The exact day that Alice in Borderland season 3 will drop on Netflix hasn't been revealed yet, but we're keeping our fingers crossed that it will come out in early September. Obviously, we'd want to see the third season sooner rather than later. Once the official release date is revealed, we'll come back to share it.

While plot details for season 3 are still under wraps, we have a sense of what to expect. The thriller series follows a young man named Arisu and other characters who are trapped in a dangerous alternate Tokyo, forced to participate in life-or-death games to survive. After what seemed like the conclusion of the games in season 2, with the characters returning to the real world, the final scene reveals that the games may not be over, thanks to the shocking appearance of the Joker card. This card will play a big part in the third season.

According to Netflix, Alice in Borderland season 3 will introduce a "new storyline." The streaming giant also shares that fans can expect to see a continuation of the characters' survival journey through an "unknown world." So, for those who thought the third installment would adapt other works from Haro Aso, such as his mangas Alice on Border Road or Alice in Borderland: Retry, that doesn't appear to be the case. It seems that a brand new story will be explored in the third season. Additionally, Kento Yamazaki and Tao Tsuchiya are confirmed to reprise their respective roles as Arisu and Usagi.
