The Oscars have wrapped up and it feels like we're finally moving into a fresh new era of movies now that we can officially check off the 2024 awards season. Speaking of the Oscars, this week, we're looking forward to the next film from winner Bong Joon-ho, the man behind Best Picture winner Parasite and many other notable genre films. His latest movie, Mickey 17, starring Robert Pattinson, is a darkly funny sci-fi film that will be released theatrically on Friday, March 7.
But if sci-fi isn't your thing and you're looking for more straightforward scares, then you're in luck because there are 9 other films (and one documentary) coming out this first week of March and all of them will either be released on streaming (Shudder, Netflix, etc.) or on VOD.

Academy Award-winning director Bong Joon-ho (Parasite) returns with his latest film, a sci-fi black comedy movie starring Robert Pattinson as well, multiple Robert Pattinsons. To be more specific, Pattinson plays a lowly clone worker who agrees to work as part of a human colony on an ice planet. As a clone worker, he's considered disposable and whenever he dies, the material creating him reforms into a new clone that mostly keeps his memories intact from clone to clone.
In the Lost Lands

Dave Bautista and Mila Jovovich play a hunter and a witch in this epic dark fantasy film based on George R.R. Martin's short story. A formidable queen sends the powerful witch Gray Alys (Jovovich) into the dangerous Lost Lands to find a magical gift. Gray is accompanied by Boyce the hunter as they fight against hordes of enemies in the quest for this honored offering. Jovovich reunites with Resident Evil director Paul W. S. Anderson for this film.
Starve Acre

Matt Smith and Morfydd Clark star in this psychological British folk horror film about a small family living on a rural plot of land that is also inhabited by an ancient oak tree. Wanting to investigate further, the archaeologist played by Smith starts to research the tree and seemingly brings forth a dark and sinister energy.
CHAOS: The Manson Murders

True crime aficionados won't want to miss out on the latest Charles Manson documentary, this one from The Thin Blue Line director Errol Morris. CHAOS is based on the 2019 book Tom O’Neill with Dan Piepenbring and delves into the unlikely and surprising links between Mason, the CIA, and LSD.
Bloat

As if nearly drowning in a demon-infested lake isn't enough, imagine being saved and bringing something back with you. There's a Zombie Outside

The latest movie from Gravitas Ventures is a queer horror movie about a man who is deeply invested in cult cinema and begins to suspect that a real monster is watching him every night.
