Hopefully you haven't had your fill of legacy sequels or continuations yet because it sounds like a new Jennifer's Body movie might be in development! During the recent premiere of her Canadian drama Seven Veils, star Amanda Seyfried chatted with some fans and, when asked about the sequel possibility, cheekily said that she thinks a sequel might be happening. Watch the TikTok video here.

Someone asks her if she just confirmed the news and Seyfried responds, "I didn't confirm it, I said I think," and then she playfully winks at the group. That sounds like promising news to me! Of course, this doesn't necessarily mean Jennifer's Body 2 is really going to happen, but it is certainly a positive sign of the movie's future.

It would be nice to see Seyfried and Megan Fox reunite with writer Diablo Cody and maybe even director Karyn Kusama. The 2009 comedy horror movie was heavily criticized when it first released in theaters, but the movie has been frequently reevaluated in recent years and has finally started to get the praise and justice it deserves, with many considering the film a horror cult classic.

A big part of the reason people think the original underperformed is because of a misaimed marketing campaign that didn't seem to understand the film's feminist tone. Jennifer's Body has been hailed as an empowering movie and is often recognized by queer fans as a film that helped them understand their sexuality.

Apart from Jennifer's Body, Cody is known for United States of Tara, Juno, Young Adult, and Tully. Her latest film, Lisa Frankenstein, brought her back to horror comedy with a charming film featuring Kathryn Newton as an outcast who makes her own boyfriend out of a reanimated corpse. Like Jennifer's Body, I think Lisa Frankenstein was seriously underrated when it came out last year. I hope more people rediscover it in years to come.

Speaking of Lisa Frankenstein, Cody previously told Deadline that the two films were set in the same universe. During the premiere, many people asked Cody about potentially rebooting Jennifer's Body and she did seem open to the idea, noting how hard it is "to get things made these days" but that she hoped her new movie would give her the "final push" to "make it happen."

It sucks that both movies wound up performing poorly at the box office and with critics, making it clear why Cody has said she was "nervous" about returning to the realm of horror-comedy, but I think a Jennifer's Body sequel could be just what we all need right now.
