AMC is presenting multiple panels and a Clown in a Cornfield immersive experience at Comic-Con

AMC Networks’ presence will be very strong at Comic-Con International this year, as they present multiple panels and a Shudder activation centered around Clown in a Cornfield. The film was a hit in theaters in May, and will soon be streaming on Shudder and AMC+.

Comic-Con International is held in San Diego at their Convention Center, and will run from July 24 through July 27.

Here’s a breakdown of the events AMC will be hosting:

  • The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon will present a panel in Hall H on Friday, July 25, from 12:15 – 1:15. Panelists will include Chief Content Officer of the Walking Dead Universe Scott M. Gimple, Executive Producer / star Norman Reedus, EP David Zabel, EP / Director Greg Nicotero and EP / star Melissa McBride. The panelists will be debuting the official trailer for season three, as well as discussing the season. The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon will return on Sunday, September 7, 9:00 pm ET on both AMC and AMC+. There will also be a fan autograph signing session that same day.

·         An Anne Rice Immortal Universe Panel will be held on Saturday, July 26 from 4:30 – 6:00 in Ballroom 20.  Attendees will have the chance to get an intro to the newest Anne Rice Immortal Universe series Anne Rice’s Talamasca. Panlists will include Showrunners / Executive Producers John Lee Hancock and Mark Laffert, EP Mark Johnson, and cast members Nicholas Denton, William Fichtner, Maisie Richardson-Sellers and Celine Buckens. The moderator will be TV Guide Magazine’s Damain Holbrook, and a teaser trailer will make its debut. Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire will be represented by Executive Producer Mark Johnson, Showrunner and EP Rolin Jones, composer Daniel Hart and cast members Jacob Anderson, Sam Reid and Eric Bogosian.

·         On July 24 – July 26, attendees will be able to experience Shudder’s Clown in a Cornfield: The Experience from noon until 8:00 p.m. at the Hilton San Diego Gaslamp Quarter Hotel terrace. Ahead of Clown in a Cornfield making its streaming debut on August 8, the experience “will immerse attendees within settings from the film, beginning in the town square during the Founders Day parade, which gives way to a corn maze. Anyone who makes it through the corn maze in one piece will become part of a celebration that will feature games, photo opportunities and giveaways (but watch out for Frendo the Clown!). Tickets will be available starting Monday, July 21 by visiting Shudder on Instagram and Twitter. Tickets are free, but are limited. There will also be a screening of Clown in a Cornfield on Friday, July 25 at 10:L30 p.m.

·         Collider Ladies Night After Dark – The Women of the IFC Entertainment Group panel will be held on Thursday, July 24 from 6:45 – 7:45 in Ballroom 20. This panel will feature moderator Perri Nemiroff of Collider, who will spotlight women involved in IFC’s most anticipated upcoming genre films: Clown in a Cornfield and Dangerous Animals. Celebrity guests will include Katie Douglas of Clown in a Cornfield and Hassie Harrison of Dangerous Animals. Also attending will be Alexandra Shipp of Forbidden Fruits and Violent Ends, and Dafne Keen and Sophie N’elisse from Whistle.

·         A Leave Them in Suspense Panel will be held on Thursday, July 24 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. in Room 23ABC. The panel will consist of Adam Cesare, who wrote the book Clown in a Cornfield, writer Max Allan Collins, writer of Never Whistle at Night Ted Van Alst Jr., Arvind Ethan David (Raymond Chandler’s Trouble is My Business) and Delilah S. Dawon (Guillotine). The writers will discuss the importance of building tension in mystery and horror books. The moderator will be Dr. Betty Ramirez. Cesare will be available for autographs on July 25 (12:30 - 1:30 p.m.) and July 26 (3:00 – 4:00) in autograph area AA02. ·         The Bold Voice of Contemporary Horror panel will be held on Friday, July 25 from 4:30 – 5:30 in Room 5AB. Present will be Tina Romera, director of Shudder’s upcoming Queens of the Dead, Overlook Film Festival’s Co-Founder and Director of Film Programming Michael Lerman, Programmer of Toronto Internation Film Festival’s Midnight Madness Peter Kuplowsky, Akela Cooper (writer of Malignant and M3GAN) and Angel Melanson of Fangoria.
