Another fascinating Netflix true crime documentary is on its way, and it will be available to stream in July. Amy Bradley is Missing is a three-part documentary series that explores the disappearance of 23-year-old Amy Bradley, who went missing while on a cruise ship with her family.
Amy was a bright young woman in her early 20s, working full time at a high end steak house, but was about to start a job at a computer consulting firm. She had graduated Longwood University with a degree in physical education after receiving a basketball scholarship. A strong swimmer, Amy had even worked as a lifeguard at one time.
Amy’s father Ron had won the family cruise through his job, and the whole family, including Amy and her brother Brad went along. Travelling on the Royal Caribbean National ship Rhapsody of the Seas, Amy and Brad headed out for the ship’s nightclub to dance sometime after midnight on March 23, 1998.
Records show that Brad got back to his cabin around 3:35 in the morning, with Amy showing up about five minutes later. Their father got up at 6:00 a.m. and peeked out on the balcony, where Amy had been sleeping, but she was not there. Ron searched the common areas of the ship, and then reported that Amy was nowhere to be found.

Before a ship-wide alert went out, the boat had docked at Curacao, where most of the travelers disembarked to explore. This means that it is entirely possible Amy disembarked as well, possibly under the control of an abductor.
Although the ship was searched thoroughly by the staff, there was still no sign of Amy, and the Dutch Caribbean Coast Guard conducted a four day long search that included the use of a radar plane and three helicopters.
Authorities thought it likely that Amy had gone overboard, either accidently or on purpose, but there was no evidence. For years, there were reports of people seeing Amy, with several of the reports involving Curacao, where the ship docked.
Many people believe that she may have been trafficked, casting suspicion on a musician who played in a band at the nightclub Amy and her brother had visited on the night of her disappearance.
With no body, no contact, and only sparse reports of sightings, Amy’s disappearance is a mystery that lives on, especially for her family, who has not given up hope.
