Hulu has quickly gained a reputation for its strong true crime content, and they have now announced two upcoming limited true crime series. The new series will take a deep dive into two of the most talked-about murder stories in the recent past.

First up is Capturing Their Killer: The Girls on the High Bridge, which will look at the Delphi murders. In February of 2017, two young girls disappeared while walking the Delphi Historic Trails in Indiana.

13-year-old Abigail Williams and 14-year-old Liberty German had gone hiking on the Monon High Bridge. Liberty posted on social media at 2:07 that afternoon, adding a photo of Abigail walking across the bridge…and that was the last that was heard from either of them.

A search was mounted, and the girls’ bodies were found the next day on the bank of Deer Creek. At first, police would not release any details regarding the cause of death, though they did release a grainy photo of a man walking on the bridge. A week later, an audio recording was released of the muffled voice of a man saying, “Down the hill.” As it turns out, the image and the audio were retrieved from Liberty’s phone.

The case captured the attention of everyone, and years were spent in speculation before someone was finally charged with the murders, and convicted 7 years later. Hulu’s three-part docuseries examines the murders and their aftermath.

Capturing Their Killer: The Girls on the High Bridge will release on Hulu in full on August 5

The next true crime series coming to Hulu is The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox, and this one is “inspired by” Knox’s story. It’s a scripted series, so not really a documentary.

Most Americans are familiar with the story of Amanda Knox, who was living in Italy with her roommate Meredith Kercher in 2007. Both women were exchange students at the time.

Knox, who was 20 years old, returned home after spending the night at her boyfriend’s, and found blood in the bathroom. Discovering that Kercher’s bedroom door was locked, and unable to find her, Knox called the police, who found Kercher’s body in her locked room.

Knox and her Italian boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito were charged with the murder, and had been imprisoned for four years by the time a bloody fingerprint in Kercher’s room was matched to Rudy Guede. Both were subsequently released, and Knox returned to the US.

The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox stars Grace Van Patten, John Hoogenakker, Sharon Horgan, Francesco Acquaroli, Giussepe De Demenico and Roberta Mattei. The first two episodes of the series will premiere on Hulu on Wednesday, August 20, and new episodes will premiere each Wednesday leading to the finale on October 1.
