Universal Orlando Resort is keeping everyone hyped up about the upcoming opening of Universal Epic Universe. Although the new park includes five immersive worlds/sections, most exciting for fans of horror movies is the Dark Universe section of the park, which will feature many of the classic Universal monsters.
Now Universal Orlando has released terrifying first look photos of the monstrous fully animated figures that will be present in the Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment attraction. They also have created an introductory behind the scenes video, which you can see at the end of this article.
The ride, which Universal describes as “groundbreaking” features 14 of the realistic animated monsters – “each one depicting one of the legendary Monsters that will prey upon guests in what promises to be Universal Orlando’s most terrifying attraction yet.”
When guests visit Monsters Unchained, they will see Frankenstein Manor and be greeted by Victor Frankenstein’s great-great granddaughter Dr. Victoria Frankenstein. She has spent years conducting twisted experiments, and believes she has gained the ability to control the monsters – but when guests visit the catacombs within the manor, they end up trying to escape The Wolf Man, Dracula and The Creature from the Black Lagoon, among others. Making things worse, the ride into the catacombs takes place in the dark!
Which classic monsters can be seen at Universal’s Epic Universe?
Let’s take a look at which iconic Universal Monsters guests will come face-to-face with the monsters…who don’t seem very well-controlled after all.
Most impressive is the nine foot tall 800 pound Frankenstein’s Monster. Guests will get their first look at him during the preshow presentation in Victoria’s lab.
Next up is the most iconic vampire of them all, Dracula. He will terrorize guests multiple times throughout the ride, and is leading the enraged monsters.
The Wolf Man also makes an appearance, and everyone present needs to be aware of his dangerously sharp teeth and claws!
And lest you think Epic Universe forgot about The Creature from the Black Lagoon, he will swim up to help terrorize the guests as well.
For those who are too scared to face Monsters Unchained, never fear! The characters (including Dr. Victoria Frankenstein’s Monster and the Bride of Frankenstein) will be available for photo ops. Beware, because there are other monsters lurking about the village, including Victoria’s assistant Ygor, The Invisible Man, a monster hunter and a musician.
Universal Orlando’s Epic Universe is scheduled to open on May 22, 2025.
