One of the movies Shudder fans have been waiting eagerly for is finally coming to the horror streaming service. That's right, now we can watch Clown in a Cornfield from the comfort of our own homes.
Clown in a Cornfield enjoyed a short but successful theatrical run in May, where it set an opening weekend record for an IFC film. It grossed $3.7 million, passing the prior record holder, Late Night With the Devil.
The Twin will also be available to stream in August, along with a rather small but interesting group of "Shudder Resurrected" additions.
August 1:
Urban Legend – In this fun 1998 horror movie, college students are being murdered in ways that resemble well-known urban legends (the man with a hook for a hand, etc). Alicia Witt heads up the cast as Natalie, the first to see a pattern.
Urban Legends: Final Cut – In the sequel, Amy (Jennifer Morrison) is a film student working on her thesis about the Urban Legends serial killer. Soon, the crew members filming her thesis start getting killed off.
Venus – “Horror invades the concrete corridors of a cursed apartment complex on the outskirts of Madrid.”
La Abuela (AKA The Grandmother) – Susana lives in Paris, where she works as a model, but returns to Madrid to care for her Grandmother, who has had a stroke. Her intention is to find a caregiver, but things change when supernatural events begin happening.
August 4:
Gags the Clown – When a man is seen wandering the streets dressed as a clown, a reporter wants to track him down and identify him. But local teens confront Gags and he finally reveals his true intentions.
All the Gods in the Sky – “Caring for his disabled sister on an isolated French farm, guilt-ridden Simon seeks supernatural means to free them both from their physical constraints.”
Pelican Blood – Single mom Wiebke is raising her child while working as a horse trainer, and decides to adopt a 5-year-old named Raya. But Raya suffers from serious trauma, and starts to show some strange and violent behaviors.
August 8:
Clown in a Cornfield (Shudder Exclusive) – Quinn and her father move to Kettle Springs after the death of her mother, hoping for a fresh start. Quinn’s new friends tell her about Frendo the Clown, who soon starts stalking the townspeople.
August 11:
Never Have I Ever – Sam is panicking as he tries to repay an advance, and he is having a very bad day. He loses his wallet, and as time goes on, things get even worse.
I Saw the Face of the Devil – 18-year-old Majka lives in a small town in Poland, and after having some unusual feelings, she begins to believe she is possessed.
August 29:
The Twin (Shudder Exclusive) – Nicholas and Charlie are struggling with their marriage after tragically losing their son, and he begins talking to a psychiatrist. When Nicholas begins to suffer hallucinations involving a terrifying figure who looks like himself, he has to take charge to get his life back.
