More Beetlejuice is on the way! Warner Brothers co-chairman/CEOs Mike De Luca and Pam Abdy have confirmed that development on Beetlejuice 3 will begin "imminently" as soon as the deals are finalized.

Chatting with Deadline, Abdy and De Luca discussed the recent hits and misses at Warner Bros., from successful box office hits like Beetlejuice Beetlejuice and Minecraft to misses like Joker 2.

Tim Burton returned to direct Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, which also saw the return of Michael Keaton as the titular character, Winona Ryder as Lydia Deetz, and Catherine O'Hara as Delia Deetz. The sequel also featured several exciting new characters, such as Jenna Ortega (Scream, Wednesday) as Lydia's daughter, Astrid, and Justin Theroux as Lydia's new boyfriend, Rory. Willem Dafoe, Burn Gorman, and Monica Belluci were also part of the 2024 film. It grossed over $451 million at the global box office, becoming one of last year's most profitable films.

Given that, it's not surprising that Warner Bros. wants to move forward with a sequel as soon as possible. It has become a top priority for the company to produce another Beetlejuice movie ASAP.

When asked if Warner Bros. is developing a Beetlejuice Beetlejuice sequel, De Luca said, "Imminently. The ink might not be dry on the deals yet, but imminently."

Unfortunately, that's the only information we have right now, so it's too early to say what the sequel will be about or which actors might return. At the end of the 2024 film, Astrid helped save her mom from marriage to Betelgeuse, who they were able to banish back to the Afterlife. But Lydia is still haunted by him.

De Luca teased some of Warner Bros.'s other exciting upcoming projects, like Andy Serkis' Gollum movie and Drew Goddard working on a new Matrix movie. As 1428 Elm previously reported, a new Gremlins movie is also in development with Chris Columbus.

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is currently streaming on Max.
