Renowned filmmaker, producer, and screenwriter Sam Raimi is finally set to make his return to the horror genre with his upcoming horror thriller Send Help. Academy Award-nominated actress Rachel McAdams was the first to join the movie's cast. Now, we have Caddo Lake's Dylan O’Brien joining the project, adding even more star power to the film.

Raimi is best known for being the creator of the Evil Dead franchise. While he has produced and executive produced several horror projects over the years, this will be his first horror movie he's directed in a long time. The last horror film he directed was the supernatural horror flick Drag Me to Hell. He is also signed as a producer on Send Help.

This film was first announced back in July 2024. It was reported that Raimi would produce and helm the new horror thriller for 20th Century Studios, based on a screenplay co-written by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift. At the time, Zainab Azizi was also announced as having signed on to the project as a producer.

Described as a survival horror thriller, the film centers around two co-workers who find themselves stranded on a deserted island after a plane crash. As they navigate the island's dangers, they must band together to survive. Will they be able to escape the island alive, or will the fight for survival push them to the brink, turning them against each other in a desperate struggle to make it out alive?

Dylan O'Brien, who many may recognize from his iconic role as Stiles Stilinski in the supernatural teen series Teen Wolf, is the latest to join the horror thriller. He most recently starred in the Max original film Caddo Lake and the comedy-drama Saturday Night. As mentioned earlier, he joins already-announced cast member Rachel McAdams (Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness). Also in the cast is Chris Pang (Interior Chinatown). However, character details for all three cast members are currently being kept under wraps.

Send Help is expected to receive a theatrical release eventually. This is the last piece of important information we know about this film so far. We'll get back to you with more updates as soon as additional details are announced.
