Everything you need to watch Dexter: Original Sin tonight!
By Mads Lennon
It's time to return to the universe of our favorite avenging serial killer, Dexter Morgan. But he'll look a little bit different this time. Dexter: Original Sin is a prequel series, and while it won't star Michael C. Hall in the lead role, Hall is set to return to narrate Dexter's inner voice.
As for the role of young Dexter, he'll be played by Shadow and Bone star Patrick Gibson, with Christian Slater cast as his father and mentor Harry Morgan.
Considering it has been about three years since the controversial Dexter sequel series New Blood aired, I'm sure many fans are eager to return to this world, especially because this time, at least, you know Dexter won't die (or wind up a lumberjack). That's the good and bad of a prequel. We know where it's headed, but that doesn't mean we can't enjoy the journey.
To watch Dexter: Original Sin right now, you will need a Paramount+ with Showtime subscription. That means you cannot just get the basic Paramount+ plan. Either sign up with a new account or upgrade your current one if you don't have it with Showtime at the moment.
- Paramount+ with Showtime cost $12.99/month vs. $7.99/month for Paramount Essential
The premiere episode of Dexter: Original Sin is already available to stream on Paramount+ with Showtime as a sneak peek for subscribers.
Everyone else will have to wait until Sunday to watch the series when it makes its on-air debut on the Showtime channel. Tune in to Showtime at 10 p.m. ET to watch the first episode, which introduces us to a young Dexter as he struggles to navigate his dark urges while living with his father and his teenage sister Deb (Molly Brown).
Based on how Paramount+ and Showtime have aired previous shows, like Yellowjackets season 2, you can expect to get early access to new episodes of Dexter: Original Sin every Friday. People who only have the Showtime channel through their television provider will need to wait until Sunday nights.
