Evil Dead Burn is coming in 2026 from Infested director Sébastien Vaniček

Evil Dead fans have plenty to look forward to in the coming years as the franchise based on Sam Raimi's original 1981 film continues to evolve.
French director Sébastien Vaniček recently shared an exciting update on the next planned movie in the franchise, which we now know will be titled Evil Dead Burn. The director shared a photo of the screenplay's title page via his social media account, teasing the next chapter. He and Florent Bernard co-wrote the script.
Previously, Lee Cronin wrote and directed the smash hit 2023 movie Evil Dead Rise, starring Alyssa Sutherland and Lily Sullivan as sisters who must combat the Deadites after their kids mistakenly summon them via the infamous Necronomicon, unaware of what the book really entails.
Evil Dead Rise performed very well theatrically, earning more than $147 million and receiving praise from critics. In many ways, Cronin's film felt like a fresh reboot of the long-running franchise, which hadn't had a new movie since the 2013 remake.
Vaniček reportedly caught Raimi's eye with his nasty, terrifying creature feature Infested, which debuted on Shudder earlier this year. Raimi then hand-picked the director to helm a new Evil Dead film. You can't get much higher praise than that!
But Evil Dead Burns is not the only Evil Dead movie in the works, another spinoff film is in development from director Francis Gallupi (The Last Stop in Yuma County). Gallupi will write and direct the feature for Raimi's production company, Ghost House Pictures. Plot details for both films are currently being kept under wraps.
Although there haven't been many new Evil Dead movies in recent years, there was a beloved television series on Starz, Ash vs. Evil Dead that brought star Bruce Campbell back in his popular and beloved role as original franchise character Ash Williams. A multiplayer Evil Dead survival horror game was also released in 2022, though it received mixed reviews and live support was canceled not long after it launched.
