Major spoilers ahead from Fear Street: Prom Queen.

There are actually three killers in Fear Street: Prom Queen
Everyone at Shadyside High has gone all out to get ready for prom night, especially the prom queen hopefuls. However, before the festivities even begin, the killer makes their first strike, targeting Christy. After a late-night weed deal, Christy heads home and comes face-to-face with the murderer. She attempts to flee but fails when the killer lifts their axe and brings it crashing down, hitting her in the chest. The following day, many students realize Christy is missing, but none are overly concerned.
Later that evening, prom night finally arrives. The Wolfpack, Tiffany, Melissa, Debbie, and Linda, make their entrance at Shadyside High with their dates, while Lori arrives alongside her best friend Megan. Despite the festivities, Lori can’t keep her eyes off Tiffany’s boyfriend, Tyler. She’s harbored a crush on him for quite some time but has never acted on it, knowing he’s already taken by her rival, Tiffany.
Elsewhere in a classroom at the school, Linda and her boyfriend Bobby discover that her prom queen flyers have been vandalized. As Linda moves away from Bobby to another area of the room, she comes face-to-face with the killer, who attacks her offscreen, fatally wounding her. When Bobby steps out of the room and sees her condition, the killer swiftly murders him as well. Meanwhile, the rest of the school is unaware, dancing and enjoying the prom festivities.
Next on the killer’s list are Debbie and her boyfriend Judd, who slip away to the school’s basement. While they’re talking, the killer silently approaches Judd from behind, seizes him, and presses an electric slicer against his face, delivering a fatal, deep cut. While trying to escape the killer, Debbie bumps into the school's fuse box and is electrocuted.
Back at prom, Tiffany purposely spills juice on Melissa’s dress, forcing her to have to go change in the restroom. Lori and Tiffany then have an epic dance battle, drawing the attention of everyone around them. Meanwhile, Melissa encounters not one masked killer but two! One of the killers takes the butcher knife they're holding and strikes it at Melissa's head, killing her. They then drag her body somewhere else.
Later, Megan spots one of the killers passing by, but the figure vanishes when she tries to follow. Concerned, she seeks out Lori to warn her that someone might be targeting the prom candidates and other students, but Lori brushes her off. They have an argument, and Megan walks away. Tyler then takes Lori behind the school's auditorium, but she doesn't feel safe after listening to Megan. She tries to leave, but Tyler grabs her arm. Pulling away, she just stares at him. One of the killers then suddenly appears behind Tyler and fatally strikes him in the head with a knife.
Lori screams and flees, eventually running into Megan in the school’s basement, where they discover the bodies of Debbie, Judd, and the janitor. Trapped inside by one of the killers, Lori and Megan manage to find an escape route and make their way back to the prom. As Lori warns everyone about the approaching killer, the assailant begins attacking students with an axe, cutting through anyone in their path to reach her.
Just as the killer is about to strike Megan, Lori quickly removes her crown and stabs the attacker in the eye. The killer is then revealed to be Tiffany's dad, Dan Falconer. Dan claims that he murdered the other prom candidates because he wanted to secure his daughter's win as prom queen. That way, he'd make his wife Nancy happy.
But what about the second killer? That mystery doesn't stay hidden for long. With Dan unmasked and taken into custody, Nancy remains behind to speak with the police. Meanwhile, Lori chooses to stay at Tiffany’s house to keep her company. However, the moment Nancy arrives, it quickly becomes clear that she’s the other killer.
She walks up the stairs with a knife in her hand, headed to Tiffany's room to find Lori. However, Lori meets her halfway at the stairs. Tiffany suddenly wakes up and walks out of her room to see her mom with a knife, staring at Lori. Acting fast, Tiffany grabs Lori, and the two rush to hide in a nearby closet. But while inside, Tiffany reveals to Lori that she's also in on the killings. She then tries to stab Lori with a knife, but Lori manages to get away. She runs back to where Nancy is, and Tiffany follows her.
With Lori's back up against the wall, Nancy reveals to her why she wants to kill her. Back when she was at Shadyside High, Nancy dated Lori's father first before he left her for Lori's mother, Rose. Consumed by jealousy and rage, Nancy murdered him in a fit of vengeance. So, the rumor going around Shadyside that Rose killed Lori's father is false. It was actually Nancy.
She wants to kill Lori because she still holds a bitter grudge over what happened many years ago, even though it doesn't involve her. She also resents that Lori seems to be getting everything her own daughter wants, like the prom queen crown and even Tyler’s attention. It reminds her all too much of when Rose "took everything" from her.
Just when Tiffany is about to stab Lori, Lori kicks her hard enough that she goes flying over the staircase, impaling her body on a sharp decoration. Now it's just her and Nancy. Lori runs downstairs while Nancy chases her with a knife. Just as Nancy is about to strike her, Lori grabs a trophy from a nearby bookcase and knocks her out with it. Lori then leaves her bleeding out on the floor. That's how Fear Street: Prom Queen comes to an end.
