Fright-Rags is beloved by horror fans due to its often deep-cut horror movie merchandise, particularly its t-shirts. But the company also acknowledges well known horror films, and their newest merch drop pays homage to a seasonal iconic movie.

Of course, we’re talking about 1974’s Black Christmas (known to me as “the horror movie that made me love horror movies). The Canadian film was released in the U.S. on December 20, retitled as Silent Night, Evil Night, due to fears that it would be misinterpreted as a blaxploitation flick.

Black Christmas was one of the first horror movies to center around a national holiday, and in the fifty years since its release, it has achieved well-deserved legendary status amongst horror lovers. With the film’s upcoming fiftieth anniversary looming on the near horizon, Fright-Rags has made the wise decision to manufacture special merchandise that acknowledges the benchmark.

By the way, if you doubt Black Christmas’s importance to the genre, you should know that it’s what inspired John Carpenter’s Halloween. And, trivia alert: It was directed by Bob Clark, the same man who would later direct A Christmas Story.
