With Halloween fast approaching there's still time to check out a couple more horror movies in the spirit of the holiday! But why not try something a little different this time around and choose a movie based on your specific astrological sign?

The following list is based on sun signs, and it's all just for fun so don't get too offended if you don't think the film selected fits your sign!

Aquarius (January 20 – February 18): Under the Skin

Leaning more sci-fi than horror, Under the Skin is ideal for philosophically minded Aquarians who love watching challenging movies more focused on how they make you feel than anything else. These deep thinkers will be thinking about this movie for a long time after it's done. Featuring one of Scarlett Johansson's best performances, Under the Skin is a uniquely haunting film from Jonathan Glazer focused on an extraterrestrial that preys on men.

Aries (March 21 – April 19): Battle Royale

Ambitious and competitive Aries will perhaps find something cathartic about the deadly and cutthroat world of this 2000 Japanese classic. It leans more into survival/action than it does straight horror, but the horror elements are definitely present. This is not a movie for those with a weak stomach, perfect for the mighty ram. Essentially, the proto-Hunger Games, Battle Royale is an alternate universe movie where the Japanese government places 50 teenagers on an isolated island and forces them to fight each other until only one remains alive.

Cancer (June 22 - July 22): Carrie

Our lovely crustaceans are one of the most guarded signs; they're careful with their hearts, and they feel things very deeply. Carrie sees a young girl bullied her entire life by her schoolmates and her own mother. But in the end, she finally gets to take revenge on everyone in a twisted way only a horror movie could concoct. Not saying that Cancers harbor homicidal tendencies, but they might feel a sense of relief right alongside Carrie when she finally gets to release everything she's been holding inside.

Capricorn (December 22 – January 19): The Texas Chain Saw Massacre

Tobe Hooper, director of the 1974 classic The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, was not subtle about the fact that his film had significant political messaging reflecting the values and strife of the era. Capricorns are known for being direct, ambitious, and practical. The idea of a movie with a lot of subtext to analyze will likely appeal to them, as well as the ending that gives us one of horror's most iconic final girls.

Gemini (May 21 - June 21): Us

It might be a bit of an obvious choice because Us is a movie about doppelgangers and Gemini is the sign of the twins, but Us is a fantastic movie and one of my favorites from Jordan Peele. There's way more going on in this movie than just the "evil twin" thing, as that barely scratches the surface. Being a Gemini isn't about being a twin so much as sometimes juggling multiple complex emotions. What better representation than the twisted connection between someone and their tethered counterpart?

Leo (July 23 - August 22): Midsommar

Bold, vibrant, and the sign that loves being in the spotlight the most, Midsommar is an ideal horror movie for the Leo in your life, and I can say that because I am one. Not only is this a rare horror film that takes place in the full light of day, but I can't think of much that's more terrifying than how Midsommar tackles trauma and turns the idea of being "chosen" for something, in this case, the May Queen, into a genuine nightmare.

Libra (September 23 - October 22): Rosemary's Baby

Intelligent, mindful, and with a keen sense of justice, there's no denying that Rosemary's Baby remains incredibly topical in the year 2024 and many films this year have taken inspiration from the 1976 classic. Libras are all about balance and harmony, hence the scale symbol, so watching a movie about a woman who fights to regain control over her body and life is an ideal pick.

Pisces (February 19 - March 20): A Nightmare on Elm Street

It's often said that Pisces can be quite emotional and sometimes have their head in the clouds. They enjoy fantastical elements in their storytelling. If you want to get literal, the idea that Pisces are big dreamers makes Freddy Krueger a genuine nightmare as he's a slasher who invades our most sacred space: our minds.

Sagittarius (November 22 to December 21): Malignant

Sags need something unique and intense to keep them focused. Malignant is the perfect pick because it's a modern horror movie that goes completely bonkers in the third act. It's one of those movies that polarized viewers and many either loved it completely or hated it. There's something about the challenge of figuring out what direction it will take and which side you'll fall on that a Sagittarius will appreciate.

Scorpio (October 23 - November 21): Jennifer's Body

Scorpios often get wrongfully labeled as the "mean" ones in the zodiac, which simply isn't true. Jennifer's Body is a horror film, yes, but it doesn't take itself too seriously and has quite a bit of humor and charm mixed in with its scares. Throughout the years, this film starring Megan Fox and Amanda Seyfried has become a cult classic for good reason. Depending on the day, Scorpios might even relate to Needy more than Jennifer.

Taurus (April 20 - May 20): The Menu

I'm surrounded by many Taureans in my life and one thing they all have in common is an appreciation for the finer things in life. They can also be very stubborn and are notorious grudge-holders. The Menu is a great choice for this sign as it mixes both of these things: a decadent setting that turns dark when you realize the head chef has been harboring a deeply rooted grudge toward his own clientele and has cooked up a nightmare feast to end all feasts.

Virgo (August 23 - September 22): The Wailing

The Wailing is an acclaimed Korean horror movie about a small village that succumbs to mass hysteria upon the arrival of a mysterious stranger and a spate of killings leading to a shocking investigation and unraveling mystery. With a long runtime and plenty to think about, Virgos will love having something to really sink their teeth into. Intelligent and detail-oriented, a Virgo who enjoys being challenged will find lots to explore in this movie and I'm sure they'll spend time scrolling the internet and Reddit threads to check out more theories when they're done.
