After a successful theatrical run, one of the best horror movies of this year will finally make its way to a streaming platform in December. That streaming service is Paramount+, and the movie is Smile 2. What is the exact streaming release date? Well, make sure to mark your calendar for Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2024, because that's when Smile 2 is slated to drop on Paramount+.

The supernatural horror flick originally hit theaters back in October, receiving a mostly positive critical reception. Regular viewers enjoyed the movie as well, with many praising it for its standout performances, among other things. It ended up being a box-office hit, grossing $137.6 million worlwide against a budget of $28 million. Now people are wondering about a potential Smile 3. While the creative team has plans for a third film, it has not yet been confirmed. Don't worry. We'll let you know if a second sequel ever happens.

Parker Finn, who was behind Smile (2022), wrote, produced, and directed Smile 2. The film was officially greenlit in April 2023, with Paramount Pictures back as distributor. Later that year, Naomi Scott joined the cast in the leading role of Skye Riley, a famous pop star who, while in the process of preparing for her upcoming comeback tour, finds her life spiraling out of control when she becomes the next victim of a sinister curse.

Those cursed experience increasingly disturbing and violent hallucinations before they're ultimately led to either commit suicide or be killed in front of a witness. The witness then becomes the next victim, ensuring the curse continues its cycle. Skye doesn't want to have the same fate, so she seeks a way to break the curse. If that's possible...

Kyle Gallner, who played Joel in the first film, reprises his role in the sequel. Rosemarie DeWitt, Lukas Gage, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, Peter Jacobson, Ray Nicholson, Dylan Gelula, and Raúl Castillo are also in the movie's cast.

When it comes to critic reviews, Katie Walsh of the Tribune News Service had this to say, "Finn supplies bigger, even more effective jump-scares than the last time, which will keep the popcorn flying. The sound design booms and rattles, the delusions are even more elaborate and the body horror is even bloodier and more disturbing." Linda Marric of The Sun (UK) also had positive things to say about the sequel, saying, "Director Parker Finn pulls no punches in this nightmare-fuelled sequel, taking us on a ride that’s even more intense and disturbing."

Missed the chance to see Smile 2 in theaters? You can watch it on Paramount+ starting on Dec. 3! If you're impatient and can't wait until tomorrow, you also have the option to rent or buy the film on digital platforms such as Amazon Prime Video, Google Play, Fandango at Home, etc.
