Robert Eggers teases his next film Werwulf
Many of us are still riding the high of Nosferatu, but filmmaker Robert Eggers is already looking ahead to his next movie, a project about werewolves set in 13th-century England, complete with period-accurate dialogue.
During a recent press panel, the director discussed what fans can expect from Werwulf, neglecting to reveal any key plot details but confirming that it is indeed a "medieval werewolf movie" and "the darkest thing" he's ever written, "by far."

Scott Derrickson reveals The Black Phone 2 is another coming-of-age horror story
The 2021 film The Black Phone based on Joe Hill's short story of the same name was about a coming-of-age horror movie following a young pair of siblings separated by the horrific child abductor known as "The Grabber," played by Ethan Hawke.
Similar to the first film, Scott Derrickson says the sequel will also function as a coming-of-age story, although this time it's set in high school since the main characters (and their actors), Finney (Mason Thames) and Gwen (Madeleine McGraw) have grown up quite a bit since the first movie took place.
"I shot a high school coming-of-age movie in the same way that the first one was a middle school coming-of-age movie," told Bloody Disgusting.

The Creep Tapes will return with new episodes
Shudder and AMC+ have renewed found-footage horror series The Creep Tapes for a second, six-episode season, which will premiere sometime later this year. Mark Duplass stars as the main character, a disturbing killer who enjoys luring filmmakers into remote locations to murder them.
The show performed incredibly well for the streamer, becoming the most-watched Shudder series of all time on AMC+. Let's just hope they mix things up a little bit for the sophomore run.

Robert de Niro to star in Netflix's upcoming serial killer thriller
Alex North's crime novel The Whisper Man is being adapted into a movie by Netflix, with Deadline reporting that actor Robert de Niro has been cast in the lead role.
The bestselling novel follows a recently widowed crime author who must team up with his father, a retired detective, for assistance when his son is abducted and he suspects a serial killer known as "The Whisper Man" might be responsible.

Oddity director sets next horror film with Adam Scott as the lead
Adam Scott is returning to the horror genre for the next movie from Oddity director Damian McCarthy, reports Deadline in a recent exclusive. Scott is set to play a horror writer visiting a remote Irish inn, unaware that the place is supposedly haunted by a witch. The film is titled Hokum.
McCarthy's previous movie Oddity was one of 2024's best films of the year, so I'm looking forward to seeing what the writer/director comes up with next. Peter Coonan and David Wilmot will star alongside Scott.
The Exit 8 becoming a movie
The Exit 8, a spine-tingling walking simulator video game, is getting a live-action adaptation. In the game, players must walk through an eerily empty subway station while looking for little inconsistencies and inaccuracies in the fabric of reality. It's perfect for fans of things like The Backrooms.
Deadline reports that the upcoming film is from Japanese writer, producer, and director Genki Kawamura. The actual game is described as "a labyrinthine horror with undertones of Alice in Wonderland and Squid Game," so it should make for a particularly compelling horror film.
