Starz has just shared its June programming highlights and among the list of movies being added to the streamer's catalog are several horror films.

At the start of the month, Starz will kick off with a "World Outlander Day," along with including movies to celebrate Pride Month. But on the horror side, those looking for scares will want to seek out The Exorcist: Believer, The Skeleton Key, and more. Below we've outlined the four films to keep an eye out for next month.

All of the movies below will become available to stream on June 1, and will be exclusive to the Starz app.

The Exorcist: Believer (2023)

When the Halloween reboot trilogy proved successful, Blumhouse opted to try their hand at doing something similar with The Exorcist. Given that the original movie is a classic with a self-contained story, many were skeptical about a new version, and they were right to be. The Exorcist: Believer performed very poorly with fans and critics alike.

In fact, the reception was so poor that the plans for a new trilogy were completely scrapped. Needless to say, I don't necessarily recommend watching The Exorcist: Believer unless you're really eager to see a new entry in the series. It does include the return of Ellen Burstyn as Chris MacNeil, but she's barely in the movie, which instead focuses on the disappearance of two girls who fall prey to demonic possession.

The next filmmaker to try their hand at making a movie in The Exorcist universe is none other than Mike Flanagan.

Fear (2023)

It doesn't get much more generic than this 2023 horror movie featuring former Vine star Andrew Bachelor, a.k.a. "King Bach." Fear isn't the worst movie you'll ever see, but it is eminently forgettable.

A group of friends travel to a historic hotel to spend a weekend away together and celebrate a birthday. As these things often go, the friends soon start discussing creepy stuff, like their fears. Each one shares their deepest, darkest fear in the hopes of facing it head-on to conquer it. But then each fear manifests, attacking the group with supernatural versions of their most horrific nightmares.

Frankenstein (2004)

Frankenstein is a unique addition to this list as the film was initially intended to be the pilot for a sci-fi horror series based on Mary Shelley's classic novel. The idea stemmed from a concept by novelist Dean Koontz. But when his original idea received significant changes from the USA Network and producers, Koontz excited the project.

What remains is now basically a made-for-television film starring Parker Posey as a detective investigating a serial killer, revealed to be a version of Victor Frankenstein who genetically engineers monstrous creatures.

The Skeleton Key (2005)

Out of all four horror films becoming available to stream on Starz next month, The Skeleton Key is perhaps the most entertaining of the bunch, though I don't know that it has aged well. Kate Hudsom and Gena Rowlands star, with Hudson playing a nurse named Caroline who comes to work for the elderly woman, Violet Deveraux (Rowlands) in New Orleans.

Inhabiting an old mansion deep in the bayou, Caroline discovers plenty of strange artifacts and dark mysterious within the house, and the longer she works for Violet the deeper she gets embroiled in the secrets of her and the Deveraux family.
