Kelly Marie Tran, Benedict Wong, Jimmy O. Yang to star in new horror film Rock Springs
Two Sentence Horror Stories creator Vera Miao has set her next project, a horror film titled Rock Springs. She wrote the script and will direct this horror feature, which will star Kelly Marie Tran, Benedict Wong, and Jimmy O. Yang.
The film's plot revolves around a family consisting of a young girl, her mother, and her grandmother, who decide to move to Rock Springs, WY after the passing of her father. But shortly after their arrival, they find their lives in danger when they discover the town's dark past and that something monstrous lurks in the woods behind their new house.
Tran is best known for starring as Rose Tico in Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. She also voiced the lead role of Raya in the animated fantasy film Raya and the Last Dragon. In addition, she played as Jules Shaw in the short-lived drama series Sorry for Your Loss and as Rosie Zhang in the third and final season of the fantasy series Sweet Tooth.
You might recognize Wong from his role as Wong in the Marvel superhero films Doctor Strange, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Spider-Man: No Way Home and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Yang, on the other hand, is best known for starring as Jian-Yang in the comedy series Silicon Valley. He also played as Dr. Chan Kaifang in the Netflix workplace comedy series Space Force and as Josh Lin in the Netflix rom-com Love Hard.
Also joining Tran, Wong, and Yang in the cast are Aria Kim (Whisper) and Fiona Fu (Blood and Water, Away). Macro Film Studios, Juniper Productions, Mandalay Pictures, Counterculture, and Gold House are all behind this horror film. Stephen Feder and Kiri Hart are producing via Counterculture, James Lopez, Poppy Hanks, and Greta Talia Fuentes through Macro, Matthew Lindner for Juniper, and Jason Michael Berman and Jordan Moldo for Mandalay.
Executive producers of the movie include Charles D. King, Mike Downing, Christine Yi, and Brian Nemes.
