Missing You trailer: A detective discovers missing fiancé on a dating app
Wake up, horror and thriller fans! Netflix has just dropped the official trailer for Harlan Coben's next television series adaptation, Missing You, and we're even more pumped up to see this new show after watching it! You can check it out right below.
In Missing You, the story follows Detective Kat Donovan, whose world is turned upside down after she unexpectedly finds her long-lost fiancé on a dating app 11 years after his disappearance. This shocking discovery thrusts her into a whirlwind of emotions and raises new questions. What exactly happened to her missing fiancé, Josh? Kat wants answers, but the more she goes searching for the truth, the more she puts her life in danger.
Rosalind Eleazar, who is best known for playing Louisa Guy in Slow Horses and as Dr. Vivienne McCann in Class of '09, stars in the leading role of Kat Donovan in the thriller series. Longtime Coben collaborator Richard Armitage joins her in the cast. The rest of the cast lineup is made up of Ashley Walters, Lenny Henry, Steve Pemberton, Jessica Plummer, Mary Malone, Lisa Faulkner, and James Nesbitt.
Missing You is based on Coben's 2014 thriller novel of the same name, which is a New York Times bestseller. While the story in the book takes place in the U.S., the primary location in the series adaptation was moved to the U.K. This is Coben's ninth Netflix series adaptation, with his most recent one being the thriller series Fool Me Once, which landed on the streamer earlier this year. A tenth series adaptation, Run Away, is currently in the works at Netflix.
Quay Street Productions is the production company behind Missing You. Coben serves as an executive producer via his Final Twist Productions. Other executive producers on the project include Nicola Shindler, Richard Fee, Victoria Asare-Archer, and Danny Brocklehurst. Additionally, Nimer Rashed and Isher Sahota directed the episodes from scripts written by Asare-Archer.
Like Coben's other Netflix shows, Missing You is a limited series, meaning it will only be one season. You can expect all five episodes of the series to drop on Netflix on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2025, aka New Year's Day. The release time will be 12:00 a.m. PT/3:00 a.m. ET on this date. Don't forget to save the date and time!
Since we're still a ways out from the release date, we recommend watching Coben's other eight shows that are already streaming on Netflix. They are Gone for Good, Stay Close, The Innocent, Safe, The Stranger, Hold Tight, The Woods and Fool Me Once. It'll be Jan. 1 before you know it!
