These series will surely provide the perfect dose of horror for your next binge!
Chainsaw Man
If you haven't seen Chainsaw Man, what are you waiting on? Seriously! You'll be hooked from the very first episode, and luckily, there are a total of 12 episodes to binge and enjoy. Based on the manga of the same name by Tatsuki Fujimoto, the horror anime centers around a man named Denji, an impoverished teenager who becomes a half-human, half-devil after merging with his pet devil, Pochita. He then joins a government organization, the Public Safety Division, where he works alongside other devil hunters to take down dangerous devils.
A Chainsaw Man movie titled Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc is set to hit Japan on Sept. 19, 2025. A U.S. release date has not been announced or confirmed, but the movie is expected to reach international audiences at a later date eventually.
Attack on Titan
If you truly love anime, then you must watch Attack on Titan. While it might not necessarily be a horror anime, its gripping action sequences, dark storyline, and truly unsettling moments will have you feeling the suspense and fear at every turn. Set in a world where humanity is on the brink of extinction, trapped within massive walls to protect themselves from the terrifying humanoid giants that roam outside, the series follows Eren Yeager and his friends as they join the military to fight for survival and protect humanity.
Parasyte: The Maxim
Imagine you're just going about your day when suddenly you become infected by a parasite. The alien creature is meant to take control of your body completely but fails to do so, instead settling in your right hand. Now, you're forced to share your body with a foreign entity that can think and act independently of you. This is what happens to high school student Shinichi Izumi in Parasyte: The Maxim, and now he must find a way to coexist with the parasite, all while facing the deadly threats of other parasites that are taking over human bodies.
Erased
Erased isn't necessarily a horror anime either, but its intense mystery and psychological suspense elements will keep you on the edge of your seat. It follows a 29-year-old manga artist named Satoru Fujinuma, who has the mysterious ability to "rewind" time, sending him back to moments right before tragic events unfold. After being falsely accused of murdering his mother, Satoru finds himself sent back to his childhood, where he must uncover the truth behind a series of child abductions and murders that took place in his hometown years earlier.
All four of these horror anime series are available to stream on Crunchyroll. Don't forget to check them out!
